CERNET Project Kicks Off in Zaragoza

26 June, 2025: The CERNET project officially launched with a two-day kick-off meeting in Zaragoza, Spain, bringing together 21 partners from 10 European countries.

Participants from 21 organisations across 10 European countries gathered in Zaragoza, Spain, to officially launch the CERNET project – a four-year EU-funded initiative to transform biogenic carbon emissions into high-value bio-based products.

Funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE-JU), CERNET aims to transform biogenic carbon emissions into high-value bio-based products such as L-alanine, ectoine, and PHA.

Over the next four years, the project will demonstrate carbon capture and utilisation technologies across multiple industrial sites, contributing to a more sustainable and circular European bioeconomy.
