CERNET completes its first year of implementation

The CERNET project has successfully completed its first year of implementation (M1–M12), marking a key milestone in the consolidation of its technical and organisational foundations.

Consortium meeting held on 12 May in France

Since the Kick-off Meeting held in Zaragoza on 27 June 2025, the consortium has established a strong coordination framework, ensuring continuous alignment of activities and effective collaboration among partners. Regular Steering Committee meetings held every three months have supported strategic decision-making and the monitoring of project progress throughout this initial phase.

Strengthening Collaboration Through Consortium Meetings

In addition to regular coordination activities, the consortium has reinforced collaboration through in-person meetings, including technical and coordination sessions in Odense (Denmark), as well as the first General Assembly hosted in Bazancourt (France). These meetings have played a key role in strengthening synergies, facilitating technical discussions, and ensuring a shared vision across all partners.

Completion of the First Technical Milestone

From a technical perspective, the first year has led to the successful completion of Work Package 2, representing a significant step forward in the development of the project’s core framework. In parallel, preparatory work has enabled the transition towards more advanced stages of implementation.

Following this initial phase, the project is now progressing into a new stage, with the demonstration activities and Work Package 6 recently initiated. These developments mark the beginning of the validation and scale-up phase, building on the solid foundations established during the first year.

A Solid Foundation for the Next Project Phase

Overall, the progress achieved during M1–M12 reflects the strong commitment of the consortium and its ability to advance in a coordinated and effective manner. CERNET is now well positioned to continue its implementation and deliver high-impact results in line with the objectives of the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking.
