CERNET strengthens its consortium and implementation approach through an approved project amendment

The CERNET project has recently formalised an amendment to its Grant Agreement, reinforcing the consortium through the integration of new partners and an updated implementation approach. This adjustment strengthens the project’s technical capacity while ensuring continuity, efficiency, and alignment with its original objectives.

A key element of this amendment is the incorporation of iForia and Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (BBEPP) as new beneficiaries, following the reorganisation of specific activities within the consortium. iForia, as technology provider, ensures continuity of the core technical work through licensed know-how and retained expertise, enabling a seamless transition of responsibilities.

Optimised Pilot Infrastructure and Implementation

In parallel, BBEPP contributes with its open-access pilot-scale infrastructure, including an existing mobile pilot unit that will host a significant part of the experimental activities. This evolution represents a substantial improvement in the implementation approach, as it replaces the need for developing new pilot capacity with the use of already operational and validated facilities, thereby reducing implementation complexity and associated risks.

Enhanced Roles and Resource Allocation

The amendment also includes a broader optimisation of roles, responsibilities, and resource allocation across the consortium. These adjustments ensure the continuity of activities, strengthen coordination among partners, and enhance the efficiency of key development and scale-up tasks, without affecting the overall objectives, scope, or expected outcomes of the project.

A Stronger Foundation for Project Delivery

Overall, this amendment represents a consolidated step in the evolution of CERNET, reinforcing its technical approach and increasing its capacity to deliver robust and high-impact results in line with the objectives of the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking.
